Resolve problems related to the processing of monies and cancellations of direct billed or financed policies. Process and reconcile agent’s accounts and payments of monthly accounts with company records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Research, correct, assist by phone and correspond with agents, insured and mortgage companies regarding problems with direct bill, premium finance, processing payments, returned drafts and checks issued daily.
Coordinate with Underwriting and agents regarding receipt of monies for reinstatement and cancellations; process reinstatements and cancellations on a daily basis.
Receive, review and perform data entry on PC, on transactions, NSF checks, statistical information; enter, correct and process cash edit entries daily.
Open mail; prepare payments for entry; handle all activity (i.e., phone, mailing, cancellation/reinstatement, etc.); make bank runs for claims drafts and deposits on a daily basis.
Review, process and mail notices, acknowledgments, monthly agent account and direct bill commission statements and other computer printouts daily.
Balance transactions; prepare deposits and extensions of balance sheets; post errors and checks received; sort, distribute and file reports, contracts and drafts weekly, including climbing, reaching or bending to retrieve files unassisted; reconcile balances monthly.
Maintain accounts payable system; code and enter checks and refunds; file check request and invoices daily, including climbing, reaching or bending to file unassisted.
Audit and reconcile accounts, including climbing, reaching or bending to retrieve files unassisted; coordinate with departments and branch offices to properly establish commissions, premiums and other monies; investigate and resolve item discrepancies including those over 90 days; write, follow-up and take action on discrepancy letters to agents; assist agents with agency matters and problems daily. Order checks to clear account balances to agents quarterly; produce and review past due report for account balances and direct bill commissions due company; coordinate with Marketing Representative to determine appropriate action; review, document and coordinate with collection agency large write-offs monthly.
Assist with supervisory duties (orientation, training, technical direction and evaluating of new employees) daily; assist in implementing new programs; issue procedural instructions; coordinate special projects; confer with/advise supervisor of operational problems weekly; audit, quarterly, reconciliation's prepared by reconcilers.

Required Education and/or Experience:
Two to three years of general business experience or equivalent, including one-year experience handling customers required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Examine and evaluate data furnished in written, oral, schedule, mathematics or diagram form; report and/or carry out a prescribed action in relation to the information; perform arithmetic operations and report on and/or carry out a prescribed action in relation to them; enter, post or transcribe data.
Ability to compute discount, interest, commission, ratio, proportion and percentage; calculate variables and formulas is required in this position.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports; write reports; speak with poise, voice control and confidence, using a well-modulated voice; communicate clearly when conducting training is required. Two to three years of general business experience or equivalent, including one-year experience handling customers required.
Functions generally in an office environment. Must be able to work as a team member with agents, insureds and mortgage company representatives is essential.
Sedentary position which involves sitting and keyboarding, talking and hearing, some walking, lifting (10 lbs. or less), carrying, kneeling and bending. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Some travel and overnight-out-of-town stays may be required. A high degree of keyboarding is required to perform the daily functions of this position.
